🤩 New week, new announcement 🤩 🗣 After Maggie De Block, @Cécile Grégoire, and lies jacobs, we are delighted to announce the 4th speaker at our upcoming "Arts, Innovation & Health" event: @Ugo Dehaes (KWAAD BLOED) 🕺 Ugo Dehaes is a notable choreographer and dancer from Leuven. He began dancing at the age of 18 and pursued full-time dance education at P.A.R.T.S. after initially engaging with ballet and contemporary dance. His debut choreography, "Lijfstof," received international recognition.🕺🤖 More recently, Ugo is exploring the combination of dance and technology, earning him the nickname: "the Robo-Choreographer." 🎁😘 Here is our early weekend gift to you:Two weeks ago, we proudly announced our next Health Innovation Afternoon, on the links between arts, innovation, and healthcare. We also shared that Maggie De Block would be among our keynote speakers. 🎨🤖🏥Last week, we announced our 2nd speaker: Cécile Grégoire, who will speak about the use of dance, poetry, and other art forms to keep parkinsons patients physically and mentally active. 🕺🎶 🌟🥁 Today, it's with great excitement that we announce our 3rd speaker: lies jacobs, from @albe vzw. Albe is a safe place where adults with psychiatric issues and mental disabilities can feel at home. Alongside her work as a care professional, lies is also an artist. This combination of passions (i.e., healthcare & art) is reflected in many of her works of art, which invite the viewer to become part of the work by performing an act of care.👩🏫 During our speaker-recruitment sessions, lies was the first to inform us about "outsider art", a term used to describe art created by self-taught or naïve art makers who are not part of the conventional art scene, often including those from marginalized societal groups or with mental health issues.The list of exciting speakers will only get longer and more exciting with time.
